Biography
Hester Xue is a Set and Costume Designer for live performance based in Greater London and China. Her practice seeking to draw out depth and meaning from the seemingly banal aspects of everyday life, creating performance stages for opera, drama, dance theatre, and concerts that challenge perception and strive to break down bias. She is also a fine artist who creates paintings, drawings, and installations.
She trained at an Academic Fine Art high school, studied for a Diploma in Art and Design at Camberwell, Chelsea, Wimbledon Foundation(2016-2017), and graduated from Wimbledon College of Art(University of the Arts London) with a first-class BA(Hons)Theatre Design at 2021. She is graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2025.
